Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you select the best options for maximum safety.
gaite supply professional and honest service.
Atlas Armor offers two types of screen products. One is made from fabric and the other is made from woven stainless steel making giving it the appearance of a normal insect screen.
Our fabric screens offer a Miami-Dade certification (NOA 23-.04) and 11 years of real-world testing that resulted in ZERO protection failures. This product is a very reliable barrier against high-speed wind storm damage. They are used to shield your windows, doors, and enclosed areas such as patios from high winds and debris.
Our woven stainless steel screening product also carries the Miami-Dade certification (NOA) and is used shield against hurricanes but additionally offers intruder protection. This product can by used to secure doors, windows, and large enclosed areas such as porches, or these screens can be used to build free-standing structures to protect items such as rooftop air conditioners and hospital medical gasses.
Both types of products provide year-round protection, reinforcing your home against both natural disasters and intrusions.
Roll-down fabric hurricane screens offer convenience and ease of use. They can be deployed quickly with a manual crank or motorized system that is controlled by means of a wall switch, a handheld remote control, a home automation system, or remotely using your or computer using WIFI.
Fixed and removable fabric hurricane screens are less expensive than motorized roll-down screens. Once in place, they offer the same protection as the roll-down screens. A fixed fabric panel is permanently attached to your building using sidetracks. They are used for areas that are not used for access such as a side porch opening or a window that does not open. The removable fabric panels are used on openings that you temporarily want to protect during a storm. We have a US Patent on our fixed and removable screens. Once the side tracks have been installed, you will not need to use any tools for either the installation or removal process. The locking device is permanently attached to the lightweight screen panel. These panels can also be installed and removed from the inside of your home through an open window or arch, so you will not need to use ladders to reach the upper floors.
Our woven stainless steel security screen panels are always permanently installed. They come in different configurations to secure different areas of your home, business, or area. All configurations have the same attributes. They can be used for high wind, flying debris, and solar protection. Additionally, they offer intruder protection because you cannot easily cut the woven stainless steel without using a circular saw, nor can you break the screen by using sludge hammers or gain entrance using crowbars. Our fabric screens do not offer these security features.
Our woven stainless steel screen comes in specific configurations for specific types of openings: hinged doors, sliding doors, fixed windows, emergency exit windows, and large screen panels. Each configuration is custom-designed and fitted to your existing opening. The resulting screen may require a rounded top or sides that do not form a perfect rectangular shape with 90-degree corners. All are custom-designed to fit into the existing opening or area. For an extra charge, the frame can be powder coated to any color you want, or you can choose one of our standard colors white, bronze, ivory, and beige. The screen portion is always black. The locks and hinges are stainless steel.
Beyond storm protection, our woven stainless steel security screen doors have a 3-point locking system that can easily be opened from the inside without a key, but a locked door will require a special key to enter from the outside. We have a single-hinged door and we also have French doors and sliding door configurations. The hinged doors can optionally be made with a rounded top to fit into an arch.
Our Security screen windows provide reinforced protection against both hurricanes and forced entry. Their strong design ensures long-term durability and resilience. If you choose a screen that can be opened in case of an emergency (these are required for all bedroom installations), there will be a “crash bar”, on the opposite side of the hinges, that can easily be opened by a child. The screen, however, cannot be opened from the outside.
Security Screens for large areas
Our security screens also come in large panels that can be used for side walls on patios, or they can be used to build free-standing structures to meet your needs. By combining these panels with our security doors
Businesses also require protection during hurricane season and the rest of the year. Our Commercial security screens can be used both inside and outside. For example, a jewelry store may want to use our screens on their front windows to provide 24-hour intruder protection, or a drugstore may want our screens to build a secured access area to hold their drug supply, or an airport may want our screens in the security areas to securely channel people from one area to another.
Water and wind resistance: All screens will allow water through to some degree. All screens have holes so they are not watertight. The fabric screen has very small holes and will block more water than the stainless steel screen. Water will come through the fabric as a mist. The stainless steel screen will let in water drops. Wind will also flow more easily through the stainless steel screen because of the larger holes.
Intruder protection: Only the stainless steel screen provides this feature
Privacy: Only the fabric screen offers privacy
Solar protection: Both offer solar protection but the fabric offers better solar protection
Removability: Only the fabric offers removability either by motor or manual
Cost: the fabric screens are less expensive.
Hurricane protection: Both types of screens are highly rated for hurricane protection
Warranty: Both types of screens carry a 10-year warranty. Our fabric warranty is the best in the industry because it’s TRANSFERABLE (it stays with the building not the owner), offers FREE repairs or replacement fabric if it’s damaged by wind-only, and FREE fabric replacement if damaged by mold, mildew, rot, UV rays, or air polution. Hurricane fabric screens typically cost thousands of dollars to replace.
Durability: Each product is made from high-quality materials: Dupont ™ Kevlar ® fabric. stainless steel, heavy-duty powder-coated aluminum, and molded nylon.

All other manufacturers will void your warranty as soon as the original buyer dies or no longer owns the home. And, they will also charge you again, to replace their damaged or broken screens because their warranty includes Nature’s WIND in their Acts of God clause which is used to void the warranty. As soon as the wind hits your screens, your hurricane screen warranty is VOIDED.
As a test, just ask your screen salesman one question: “If your screens should ever fail, who pays to replace them?” And, then ask to see that answer in their written warranty. Atlas Armor stands behind our hurricane products. Hint: Insurance companies will not replace damaged screens.

In an age where safety and security are paramount, protecting your home or business has never been more critical. Security screens offer a robust and effective solution to keep your property secure while maintaining aesthetics and functionality. But with a variety of options available, how do you choose the right security screens for your specific needs? In this comprehensive guide, we will walk you through the essential factors to consider when selecting security screens. Whether you're safeguarding your home from intruders or preparing for severe weather, making an informed decision is key.
Assess Your Needs:
The first step in choosing the right security screens is to assess your needs. Are you primarily concerned with home intrusion prevention, protection against hurricanes, or both? Identifying your priorities will help you narrow down your options and select screens tailored to your specific requirements.
Material Matters:
Security screens come in various materials, each offering unique advantages. Common materials include stainless steel, aluminum, and Crimsafe's patented Tensile-Tuff® mesh. Consider factors such as durability, corrosion resistance, and visibility when selecting the right material for your screens.
Strength and Certification:
Security screens are rated based on their ability to withstand impact and intrusion. Look for screens that meet industry standards and certifications, such as hurricane-rated screens or security screens certified by relevant authorities. These certifications ensure that your screens can stand up to the toughest challenges.
Customization Options:
Your security screens should complement your property's aesthetics. Choose screens that offer customization options in terms of color, frame style, and mesh design. This ensures that your screens seamlessly blend with your home or business's appearance.
Installation and Professionalism:
Professional installation is essential to ensure that your security screens perform optimally. Select a reputable provider with a track record of excellent service and experienced installers. Proper installation guarantees that your screens are securely fitted and aligned for maximum effectiveness.
Warranty and Support:
A warranty is a testament to the manufacturer's confidence in their product. Look for security screens backed by a substantial warranty, which provides peace of mind knowing that your investment is protected. Additionally, inquire about post-installation support and maintenance services.
Energy Efficiency:
Modern security screens are designed to enhance energy efficiency. Some options offer UV protection and thermal insulation, helping you reduce energy consumption and maintain a comfortable indoor environment.
Local Regulations and Codes:
Familiarize yourself with local building codes and regulations related to security screens. Compliance with these codes ensures that your installation proceeds without any issues.
Choosing the right security screens is a significant decision that directly impacts your property's safety and security. By assessing your needs, considering materials, strength, customization options, installation, warranties, energy efficiency, and local regulations, you can make an informed choice that protects what matters most. Remember that professional guidance from experts in the field can help you navigate the options and select the ideal security screens for your home or business.
Investing in high-quality security screens is an investment in the safety, comfort, and peace of mind for you, your loved ones, and your valuable possessions. So, take the time to explore your options and choose the security screens that provide the protection you deserve.
