In , we launched MosaicTileSupplies.com, becoming the first online-only tile company in the world. Showroom owners mocked us, “You can’t sell tile on the internet.” But we already were. That same year we began introducing our own lines of glass tile. Kaleidoscope® was first, soon followed by Prism®, Illuminati® and then Alchemy® for our metal tile. Sales of mosaic tile on the internet boomed between and and many competitors entered the market.
Like all of them, years of struggle followed the crash of . But in a shift in our offerings from glass tile to glazed porcelain started a resurgence that continues today. Our ¾” square glass tile blends and gradients that were our specialty in the s have been replaced by our glazed porcelain patterns in hexagons and penny rounds.
